About us

A map and reference built for the coasts of Türkiye, gathering in one place everything an angler should look at before heading out to sea.

Why it exists

For someone fishing from the shore the decision rests on a few numbers: how high the waves are, where the wind is from, how warm the water is. Those numbers sit in scattered places and none of them are shaped for an angler. Then there are the regulations — which species cannot be kept below which length, which period is closed — and that information sits inside communiqué PDFs.

This site brings those two things together: conditions and rules. On top of them it adds the fishing grounds and the species information.

Where the data comes from

Wind, waves, water temperature, current
Open-Meteo. Our server collects it every three hours; your browser does not send requests directly. The age of the data is written on the map.
Depth
EMODnet Bathymetry. The grid spacing is about 230 meters — it shows the deeps offshore, not the bottom close to the shore.
Minimum size and closed season
The recreational angling communiqué of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. The texts are not summarized; the legal basis and the official source of every record stand beside it.
Satellite and street basemap
Esri World Imagery and OpenStreetMap. The attributions stay visible on the map — a license condition.
Fishing grounds and species information
Our own hand-curated record. User submissions are not open yet.

What it does not do

  • It is not a nautical chart. It does not replace the official navigational charts (SHOD) and does not aim to.
  • It does not guarantee fish. The catch score and the season information describe a likelihood, not a result.
  • It does not explain how to catch protected species. On those pages the bait and technique sections are never drawn — even when the data exists.
  • It does not ask for your location and it does not ask you to open an account.

How it makes money

The revenue model is shop rent paid by tackle shops. The shop opens its own storefront and announces its campaigns; the angler walks through the shop before buying gear.

That is why the map, the species information and the regulations have to stay free — a crowd to show the shops forms only that way. There is no sale, cart or payment on the site; there are reservations, and you collect at the shop.
